But in short:
As you may have noticed, my name is Joachim and I'm living in Cologne, Germany (which is in old Europe ;-).
I'm 37 years old and I'm developing software since the age of 13. My first computer was a Commodore CBM 3008
on which I've written Programs in Basic and later in Assembler. I had my first Job as a Programmer at the
age of 17. I was working for a Gas/Oil Company, developing the software for controlling the complex measurement
equipment. This could be very nicely done with the Commodore, since it had an IEEE-488 Interface.
Currently I'm working as a freelancer for a very big German mobile Telecom company. Most of the development
there is done with Java and/or C++. The work is done under Windows ;-( but the Software gets
deployed to some very big Sun machines ;-)
My Java experience is about 5 years the same is true for C++. Before Java and C++ I've mostly used C.
I'm using OS/2 since its Version 1.2. Today I'm using eComStation Version 1.04 with XWorkplace.
During work or at home, I very much like to listen to Jazz. So here
is my favorite internet radio station!
I like to play Drums and I like to drive around with my 12
year old Audi V8 or my big Yamaha XJR 1300 Motorcycle.
My favorite food is Chinese, Thai, French or Italian and everything my girlfrind cooks.
My favorite country, besides Germany, is France! One of the most beautifull country I've ever seen.
Last but not least, I love my girlfriend Miriam and my son Hendrik very much!
